GERS DISTRIBUTION, a family business that invests in its terroir!
Located in Nogaro in the Gers and established for more than 28 years in the food sector, we produce and distribute poultry, fatted duck and meat products for mass distribution and catering. Children and grandchildren of farmers, the members of the company wish to promote the traditions of the region by offering remarkable products.
A SWEET PARTNERSHIP
Following the initial merger born in 2012, with FLEURONS de SAMATAN (VIVADOUR), concerning a sector of ducks with foie gras IGP Sud-Ouest, Gers under the Canard du Gers brand;
It is quite natural that Gers Distribution accepted the distribution mission of the brand new Beekeeping sector of VIVADOUR. This newly launched sector has already made it possible to harvest more than 4 tonnes of honey.
100% GERSOISE HONEY SECTOR
16 members of the cooperative, spread across the entire department, have launched into this secondary beekeeping activity.
In total, 150 hives allow these Gers farmers to obtain additional income thanks to the production of this honey.
BIODIVERSITY, At the heart of this activity
The biodiversity of farmers' farms guarantees bees a honey resource which gives them the capacity to feed all season long. In addition, we opt for sedentary hives, in order to sustain production on agricultural plots.
Our Gers farmers are committed to preserving Biodiversity and the balance of nature. They harvest honey on their farms.
It is thus a global approach to balancing ecosystems.
TRANSPARENCY AND QUALITY
The honey is guaranteed without addition and 100% All-Flower Honey. This is harvested, but also processed in the Gers. Potting is done under the brand “Miel du Gers et c’est tout!”, a simple brand that is easily identifiable by the consumer.
